2012 Major League Soccer All-Star Game
TGI Systems in Chicago called me up one day and asked if I would help them pitch MLS to do the graphics for their All-Star game. I said sure, but I want to bring in my friend Brian McCauley. Brian is an expert in Sports graphics, and while I am no stranger to the field I felt like this was a good opportunity for Brian and myself to work together.
The basic concept we came up with was one that highlighted the adversarial nature of the rivalry between the MLS All-Stars and Chelsea FC we incorporated the MLS dictated blue and yellow color scheme using sharp lines splitting the frame in two.
At the same time, we wanted to ground the design in the fact that both Chelsea's fans and Philadelphia were both working class areas using 3D imagery of industrial buildings and the Philly skyline.
